Mango butter is extracted from the fruit kernels of the mango tree. It is a moderately soft solid at room temperature, meaning that it's relatively easy to work with. That's actually one of the reasons I love mango butter so much! It's a lot easier to break apart than cocoa butter, but not as soft as shea butter. It melts upon contact with the skin, at approximately 90 degrees.
Mango butter has a rich and creamy color, just slightly yellow. It's a great moisturizer, and helps keep the skin feeling nice and soft. It contains high levels of fatty acids, including oleic and stearic acids.
Many of my products use mango butter because I really do love it. I'd even go as far to say that it's my favorite type of butter to use!
